Anybody have a 32 hour catheter inserted after labor because of inability to pee 6 hours after having her. Has anybody had one of these and when it has been taken out been able to pee normally? Worried ill never be able to pee again 😂

I had one after having DS as they started following the sepsis protocol as I had a raised temp- I managed one night with the catheter before politely insisting it was removed the next morning. I couldn’t get comfortable in bed and it kept getting wrapped around my leg.

Back to normal (well, ish, I’d just given birth so it wasn’t the most comfortable pee in my life) straight away.

The midwives made noises about having to measure my output if it was taken out, but seemed to forget to check.

I did have a catheter but it was put in around the time of delivery but just wanted to say, please don't worry. I'm sure everything is probably just a bit swollen and you will be absolutely fine.
Congratulations on you new daughter.

I had a catheter in for my c-section, had it out after I think about 12 hours, then couldn't pee. Was horrible! O felt like I was bursting but nothing would come out. Catheter back in for 24 hours - and then everything was fine once they took it out. Just went back to normal!

Yep. Couldn't pee 7 hours after birth. That bastard rubbed on my stitches and made my pads leak which was tedious too. Also meant 24h in the pokey old mlu with zero access to natural light and curtains basically touching my bed...

Managed to provide necessary samples after 24h - obsessively drinking water of course but felt odd for about a week.

Ran my first post birth parkrun about 10 weeks pp. No leakage or anything...

Yes I had to have one in before and after having my DS (c section). You will be able to urinate after, don't worry. It is a very strange sensation at first Blush
