26 weeks with twins here and struggled with reflux since Easter time. Known to have a history of hiatus hernia anyway so used to getting random bouts but not needed medication for years.

Been living on Gaviscon and Rennie’s so, afternoon seeing midwife this week, but the bullet and now been prescribed omeprazole by GP surgery. It won’t be a quick fix but, over the next few weeks, will hopefully get on top of the symptoms.

I prop myself up in bed as I’m worse if I’m lying down (and being on my side doesn’t help), I keep pots of yoghurt handy and have one if I’m really having difficulties. I keep away from acidic drinks or fruits plus have cut back on spice in meals. Smaller portions and eating more regularly than I would usually so I’m still getting enough nutrition in.

Hope you find something that works for you and you feel better soon x

My SIL swears by apple cider vinegar for heartburn in pregnancy. I've not tried it myself as the Rennies are working at the moment.

I’ve had severe acid reflux since about 25 weeks, so much so that I was vomiting sometimes multiple times per day. The following things have helped me:

  1. Ranitidine tablets - available from your GP or over the counter
  2. taking the tablets when I get up and late afternoon before my meals so they have a chance to kick in
  3. Avoiding Eggs, Cheese (high fat foods seem to make it worse)
  4. sitting upright when it’s bad, lying down makes it worse

Good luck!

I had terrible acid reflux when pregnant with my twins and the only thing that worked was really good quality 15+ Manuka Honey. You just eat one teaspoon of honey 3 times a day and it helps almost instantly.
