Hi guys,

I'm looking for any help at all. I'm currently a student nurse and I'm 22 weeks pregnant. I'm taking a year out of my studies when my daughter is born in October but I'm wondering if my hubby would be eligible for shared paternity leave?? I've done a small amount of research but don't seem to be getting anywhere so hoping someone is able to help.

Thanks 😊

I think you might need to check the policies at both of your employers to see what you are both entitled to.

I am a full time student nurse so that's why I'm a bit unsure.

I believe the woman has to be employed and therefore receive statutory maternity pay. So as your a student I dont think you are entitled to any mat pay therefore no shared paternity but you should go to / ring the job centre as they would be able to advise accurately
