Hi all! Recently found out I'm expecting baby number 3, first 2 were unplanned sections now I know number 3 will be a section which I'm a tad worried about as I know risk increases with each one but just wondered how it works? Is it consultant led and do they do it before due date? Thanks all!

Congratulations. I've only had 2 but a friend had her 3rd recently. They booked it for 40+2 (her choice) as all her babies previous to that hadn't come before 42 weeks. She saw a consultant twice during pregnancy.

My 2nd was meant to be an elective but dd had other ideas, was booked for 39+1 and I saw the consultant a couple of times across my pregnancy but that was mostly for mental health reasons.

Oh ok that's interesting thank you! I was consultant led with second as she was supposed to be VBAC wasn't sure if it was the same with a planned section. My first was very late and second 2 days early so curious as to when they would book me in. Thank you.
