Second induction experiences please

Having had an induction with my first child I am now pregnant and have been advised that it is highly likely I will have an induction with my second child due to a health issue.

Please could anyone who has had two inductions let me know how different it was the second time. Was it quicker? Did you not need a hormone drip (if you had one for the first one)? Was labour different?

I had an induction for dc1 and for dc3 and both were v different. I was on way to be inducted with dc2 as he was two week slate and went into labour naturally on way to hospital.

dc1 my waters broke then nothing happened so I was induced 24 hours later with a drip and epidural at same time. She then came pretty quickly - drip about midnight. She was out by 9am.

Dc3 I was induced at 39 weeks for medical reasons. Had pessary on the Friday and nothing happened though had to stay in hospital then on the Monday morning I lost my shit with the hospital and threatened to discharge self if they didn't get things going so they managed to break my waters and give me a drip (and again an epidural at same time) and again this got things moving pretty quickly so drip around mid afternoon and baby around 9pm.

My second induction was a walk in the park! Ok I might be exaggerating but it was soooo much easier than the first labour/induction.
It took a few hours for me to go in to labour but the build up was fine. Once I was in labour I was able to get in the bath and ended up giving birth in there, it was all very calm compared to the first time round.
I had to stay in for the minimum 6 hours and then they were happy to discharge.

Good luck!

Dd1 was induced at 42wks, she was back to back. I had the pessary in the late afternoon, followed by the drip. Bloody horrible so had an epidural. Didn't really progress so she was delivered by ventouse in an operating theatre. I had a 3rd degree tear and episiotomy. She was born about 12/3hrs after my waters went.

Dd2 spontaneous labour.

Dd3 was also induced at 42wks however this time I had a decent bishops score so my waters were broken to start me off. No pessary no drip. She was born 2hrs later, 9lb10, just had gas and air too.

Two extremes really, my second induction was brilliant.

I'm expecting number 4 and my birth plan will say the same as it did for 2 and 3. If I am induced before you come anywhere near me with a drip I'm having an epidural!
