Concerned about C Section Wound?

Hi all,

I’m 17 days post C section and becoming a bit concerned about my wound.
Everything has been fine and I thought I felt back to normal etc, until I turned over in bed a few days ago and felt a sharp tug. Didn’t think too much of it and a DH checked and said everything looked ok. Today however I think I can see a small opening in the wound, in the middle. It looks a little bit red and when I went to the toilet earlier I had another look and thought I saw a bit of pus at the area. I dabbed a cotton wool ball against and some came away but it doesn’t smell.

I’m pretty sure it has split slightly, and I have a doctors app tomorrow morning for an unrelated issue. I am going to ask for it to be looked at, but would you phone out of hours in the mean time or just wait?

I’m worried about an infection and it setting me back a few weeks as DH goes back to work Thursday, leaving me in sole charge of 2 yo DD and newborn DS.
Would you just leave it until tomorrow and be extra careful?

It may not be infected, possibly you did just open the wound slightly as you rolled.
I think leaving until tomorrow is fine if the split is very small. Try and expose it to the air. I suppose the actual scar might not be as neat if it heals with a break though. Do you have anything like steristrips ? Because you could tape it top to bottom until you see the GP.
