Sweep success stories

I had my first sweep yesterday at 39+4.. I was already 2cm dilated and have now had my show.. I'm having cramping and back pain but not so frequently..

Was just wondering if anyone had any success stories from their first sweep?

I did! Had one at 40+3 in the morning, had DS at lunchtime the following day! Took about 5 hours for contractions to properly kick in and my waters went around midnight. Good luck!

I had one on the afternoon of my due date with my last baby and was told my cervix was “favourable”. Had a show the following morning, waters broke about 5pm, contractions started at 8pm, straight in at 4 mins apart, baby was in my arms by 4am. I’m hoping for a similar success story this time (had a sweep yesterday at 39 weeks and was apparently favourable again). Good luck!

With my little boy, I had a sweep at 40+5, Inn morning.she said I was favourable and to expect cramps and a show etc. Went home, cleaned the house, went for a long walk and pottered around. Not a jot of a sign all day. DP came home at 6.30 -- "anything?" Nope! At 7.30pm, my waters started trickling out of nowhere, contractions started around 10ish, DS born at 5am the next morning :)

I'm 38+5, utterly fed up and going to beg midwife for a sweep soon (have an appointment in a couple of hours)

I was in hospital to be induced with my son as he was small and had low fluid levels but as the ward became so busy as I came off the monitor my midwife gave me a check and I was 1cm but cervix was still pretty firm and posterior so she gave me a sweep instead and said once the ward calms down she will come to get the induction going.
With in minutes I was contracting quite strongly so I decided to go for a walk to have lunch with my daughter and my family and told to come back in an hour.

After about 40mins my contractions stopped and I was gutted. But I was checked and I was 3cm cervix softer and now anterior so I was put back on the monitor ready to begin the induction they noticed my son wasn't happy in there so I was taken to delivery I was contracting at this point but felt like strong period cramps by the time I got upstairs and got checked I was 5cm and had my waters broken and my contractions ramped up and 30 mins and 5 pushes later my son was born after onyl 1 hour 54 mins of active labour.

So I'm proof at just 37 weeks you can have a successful delivery from just a sweep!
