do you know whether she had to do battle with her hospital over it, or was it ok according to their policy?

At our hospital it depends where the GBS picked up. If it is in a swab only, not in urine, women can be cared for as low risk and have sweep/waterbirth etc.

think i will have to call the maternity ward and ask them - guess it varies by hospital
