It could be a good sign. That your body is doing some of the hard work before you hit proper full on labour. Perhaps it’ll mean your labour will be shorter once it starts. X

Is the baby OP? Back to back? It sounds like it.

Slow start = quick finish.

I had this - she was slightly in the wrong position. Have they given you a sweep? I had one two days after it started and another two days later which really kicked it off. My contractions were as painful as they got from day two of the 'latent' phase. Really tiring and draining. Feel for you!

This happened to me overnight with my first. It was literally for about 12-16 hours or so though so nowhere near as long as you.
I didn't really think it could be labour as it seemed so random and I was just over 37 weeks. The tell tale was when my waters suddenly went and suddenly the contractions came hard and fast. Baby arrived less than 2 hours later!

I had this too, I really feel for you. I hardly slept and didn't eat a lot either. After 4 days the midwife came round and did a sweep but found I was 6cm so sent us to hospital. 4 hours later I was still 6cm so they broke my waters and DD came within 30 mins. DS labour (2 years later) took 4 hours from start to finish. Still needed my waters breaking. Good luck and hope it's over soon xx

I had contractions for days. I was due on Sunday 30th August 2015. I started having contractions on the Tuesday afternoon, very mild ones. I was booked in for a sweep on the Wednesday but i declined as I wanted to see if things would progress naturally. The contractions continued but as the head wasn't fully engaged my waters never broke. So I had a sweep on the Friday afternoon at 3pm. The contractions got stronger after that. I went to the hospital at 9pm and was in the birth centre by 10. I tried to get my waters to break as the midwife suggested. They didn't, so the midwife broke my waters at 2am. Then I gave birth at 6.58am on the Saturday morning.
It felt like forever, especially being awake all night. Good luck, I hope all goes well

Great news, congratulations!

I had 3 or 4 days of contractions especially in the evenings! Kept thinking is this it!

When I actually went into labour at 5:30 am I definitely spent t the first few hours wondering if it was the real deal! Had a very straightforward 16 hour labour.

Sometimes I think the body just has practice time before the real thing - frustrating as it is! Good luck, you'll do brilliantly
