Post C Section infection?

So my baby is 3 weeks one day and I’m not sure what’s going on.

I bled for about a week, not much. Then it turned into thick slimy discharge but lots and lots of it. Filling pads quite regularly. I then had a day of proper bright red blood and now I’m back to that odd discharge again. Lots of it

I’m having sweats one minute then can’t stop shivering the next my lower stomach really hurts again today.

What is this?? I’m feeling really rundown. Breastfeeding as well if that makes a difference. Thank you.

Also, it doesn’t hurt when I wee, just stings a bit at the end. But my bladder feels really delicate. That’s the only way I can describe it. It was a bit itchy the other day but that’s gone now. Thanks again!

Please get seen by a HCP as soon as possible. You have symptoms that could be a womb infection, the shivering in particular.

Go to the doctor or phn tomorrow, sounds like it could be an infection alright but possibly not in your scar if it's discharge you're having rather than the scar oozing, nobody here can really answer for sure and there's no point taking any chances.

It could be a post surgery infection. If could also be mastitis if you're BF. But either way, go to the doctor to get checked out.

Thank you. I’ve managed a couple of hours sleep and my temp is now 39.8. Feel pretty out of it.

I think you should call the post natal ward for advice, they may get you back in. Otherwise call 111. I wouldn't wait until the morning, you sound quite poorly and I think you need to be seen urgently.

I hope you feel better soon.

Pieceofpurplesky · 29/04/2019 22:51

Please get seen ASAP - call 101 and see what they suggest. I had an infection after a C Section and symptoms sound similar.

Pieceofpurplesky · 29/04/2019 22:51

111

BindTheWobbinUp · 29/04/2019 22:53

Please telephone 111 and ask for advice. Don't wait. I had a post c-section infection.

Thanks for your responses everyone. I have been diagnosed with Endometritis l. Has anyone has this? The pain is unbearable at times. ☹️

No idea about endometriosis

Hope you feel better soon op Flowers

Mumsymumphy · 01/05/2019 01:53

You shouldn't be feeling like this. Please phone 111. And please be prepared for them to tell you to go to A&E.

WeShouldBeFriends · 01/05/2019 06:24

Yep call your midwife ASAP or go to a&e. Also fwiw you can get mastitis if you're not breastfeeding.

Beyondhope · 01/05/2019 08:14

Thank you. It’s Endometritis not endometriosis. An infection in my womb. I called 111 who send me to an out of hours GP. He had no idea what is was and just told me to keep taking the antibiotics and they should start working soon. I could barely walk into his office the pain was that bad.

Please go back to labour ward or A&E! You meet sepsis criteria with a temp that high.
