Wrexham or Telford for consultant led delivery?

Hi All,
We will soon have to decide which hospital we want to deliver at, as consultant led due to a pre-existing condition.
I would really appreciate any comments - both positive or negative about your experiences at either hospital.
(Distance is about the same for both for us).
Many thanks in advance.

Do you live in England or Wales?

Are you in Wales or England? Reason I ask is I'm also on the Welsh boarder, near Chester, and the Countess of Chester has recently said it will not be accepting Welsh non-emergency patients.

Our choices were Wrexham Mealor, Glan Clwyd or the Countess. We had both children at the Countess because it's actually the nearest hospital. But if we were having them now, we wouldn't be able to.

Just something to consider.

Hi, thanks for replies.
We are in Wales.
I totally understand that it makes sense to stay in a Welsh hospital with regards to funding and politics etc and I don’t wish to burden the Shropshire Trust unnecessarily. All of my previous surgeries and management of my pre-existing condition (non-pregnancy related) have taken place at Shrewsbury as our nearest general hospital, so all of my notes etc are already with Shrews and Telford Trust.
(If I’d have moved to the other end of the country, it wouldn’t be an issue - I’d just go to the nearest hospital, regardless of where my old hospital notes were etc... )
Midwife has said that it’s up to us. I was just wondering about experiences at either as have heard recent mixed reviews about both.
Thanks.
