Early labour or just under the weather?

39+4 today... feeling sick and dizzy, loose bowels. Constant backache and Braxton Hicks for weeks so just ignoring those! Sometimes feel a lot of pressure down below but other times not so much. Could it be early labour, or am I just a little poorly? Feel crap Sad

I'm 39+3 and could have written your post! Last night BH became a lot more painful and regular, thought it was happening and then it all stopped! I'm so comfortable too :( sharp pains in my bits and feel like my insides might fall out! X

Same here and so glad to read this! I’m 39 weeks and getting constant Braxton Hicks in the day time, backache on and off, then in bed I’m waking up with pain in my lower tummy and back which feel like very strong period pains. I keep thinking it’s kicking off but in the morning I’m back to normal. Today I’m feeling loads of pressure too, its so low I feel like baby could just drop out 😂😂

So to answer your question @chipperchop - no idea but I’m keeping my fingers crossed it’s a sign of baby getting ready 🤞🏻

Definitely sounds like your body is getting ready, it could be soon or it could easily be another week or so. Sorry! At 39+4 it wouldn’t be an early labour. Smile

chipperchop · 24/04/2019 13:47

Yes, the fanny daggers are awful!! Sorry that you’re both suffering too, myboysaremyworld135 and Browniee, hopefully we’re all nearly there!

Thanks 99calmbeforethestorm Smile by “early” I meant more the early stages than pre-term. Fingers crossed!

I had my baby 11 days ago and had this for a couple of weeks before I went into labour. Although a couple of days before I just knew my body was getting ready. Anyway the day I actually went into labour I knew it was labour. On and off mild contractions all day (only way I knew they were contractions as they peaked in pain in the middle of one). And mucus plug came away on that day as well. 10 hours of slow labour followed by 2 hour active labour. Good luck!

chipperchop · 24/04/2019 15:47

Congratulations Lizbiz89! It does sound quite common and seems to suggest it’s just our bodies getting ready... although could be some time yet.

39+4 isn't early labour! I hope you are in a delivery suite somewhere / exciting times!

FrequentNameChange · 25/04/2019 11:00

@babysharkah the OP meant early stages of labour!

thecowjumpedoverthemoon · 25/04/2019 21:23

It could be your body getting ready but I had this for 2 weeks before I had baby and all signs had actually stopped for 2 days and it all started out of nowhere and caught me off guard on my due date. Hope it's not too long for you!

chipperchop · 26/04/2019 17:38

All signs definitely stopped! Due tomorrow so fingers crossed won’t be long... can’t be long, surely? 😫

Sorry to hear that... my little boy was born this morning at 3.37am! Good luck for you x

Browniee · 26/04/2019 18:46

Congratulations!! That’s lovely news 😄 hope you’re both doing well.

@chipperchop - everything seems to have stopped for me too, at night time as well which was when I was getting super strong contractions. A few twinges in the daytime but last weekend everything was a lot more obvious - trying not to be fed up. Also realised I’d forgotten to order an insert for the car seat so actually hoping she doesn’t arrive before Sunday now when it’s due to be delivered 😂

chipperchop · 26/04/2019 19:09

Amazing news, myboysaremyworld135, congratulations! How much did he weigh? Tell us how the labour went (if you want to)?

It’s so frustrating, isn’t it Browniee! Although I’m also kind of hoping baby doesn’t put in an appearance tonight, as our on call childcare has buggered off away for the night! Useless. Baby feels so low, I literally feel like I’m sitting on its head Shock

7lb 14oz! 😊 labour was as expected really! My waters broke slightly at 8pm, we went to hospital for 9.30 and I was examined around midnight where they said I wasn't in labour. But we're happy for me to stay as had a fast labour 2nd time and I knew I was definitely in labour! Just made it to the pool for pushing! Only downside was had a second degree tear again and afterpains are a nightmare but he's so worth it! X
