Hi, I'm due my section in two weeks but have lost my mucous plug and have been having lots of pains etc

Section is booked due to ptsd/pnd caused by first birth.... so I wanted to avoid labour altogether! It's looking more likely that I will go into labour and head to hosp for an emcs.

Midwife says just come to hosp once you're sure you're in labour but this is my worry.... I don't know what the slow build up pains feel like as I had drip with first dc.

I'm scared to have contractions at all after what happened first time. Does anyone have any advice or info about what made them think it was early labour??

I've read about people not having timed contractions until they were 4 or 5cm!

Not exactly the same but I had a similar experience if it helps.

Baby was breech. Booked elective cs. Waters broke a day before so off we went. After a couple of hours I felt a couple of definite contractions but they definitely felt like early mild ones.

Don’t worry, you will be checked regularly to see if you’re feeling anything. Especially if you’re expected to have a cs.

As it turned it for me, I was 5 cm without realising and they got me down and ready really calmly and smoothly. It was a lovely experience and I hope yours is too.

Thank you, I really want/need this to be calm in the hope of mending some damage done the first time. My DM keeps telling me second babies are quicker though and that has worried me a bit too Grin
