C section recovery

I had a c section 19 days ago that went smoothly overall and although I was sore at first it hasn't been that long to start feeling better.
However, about a week ago I started to have burning when urinating (sorry I hate toilet related words but I really do need advice)
I went to the gp and he gave me antibiotics to tide me over while we waited for more sample results. They all cane back clear so no infection and no medicine needed.
The antibiotics made absolutely no difference, neither does pain relief. Now at 19 days post partum I've just been to the loo and halfway through had to stop myself as it was excruciating and made me cry out almost as much as a scream. I have no idea what's happening and will boon myself at the doctors (hard with a newborn and two other children lol) but I was wondering if this has happened to anyone else? It's seriously awful

Can you try pouring warm water over the area whilst weeing?

Sux2buthen · 26/03/2019 14:41

I'll definitely have a go. The pain starts inside though. I've never had this before even after severe tearing last time it's hideous

Drink cranberry juice, sluice whilst urinating to ease the pain. It's not necessarily linked at all to the csection- you will be run-down post-production, and with a newborn.
Are you able to shower every day?
Are you getting some sleep between baby's feeds?
Silly question, but do you have comfy, cotton underwear?
Lots of things can cause cystitis.
Hope you're feeling better soon Thanks
And congratulations on your baby!

Post-pregnancy!

I think you would be best getting in touch with the hospital where you had your CSec as they may need to do more thorough tests and check all is healing correctly.

Thankyou she's a diamond 💎 Grin
Yes i can't leave it I'll definitely be chasing this up, I'm concerned because it's such a new feeling not like other times I've had uti's or anything like that.
I will try all of these suggestions thankyou

Did you have a catheter during the surgery? I'm wondering if they nicked you on insertion/exit, and it's just taking ages to heal because your body is trying to heal everything at once?

Redken24 · 26/03/2019 14:56

Sorry but is it your pee hole for lack of a better term? I had this after due to my roughish removal of a catheter. Urethritis I think the doc called it

Sux2buthen · 26/03/2019 15:37

I did have a catheter. To be honest she removed it insanely roughly, I've never felt it before but this time...ouch. I'm also wondering if it's like some sort of injury or bruise.

I had a c section and had an infection needing iv antibiotics in hospital but after had the same thing as you, turns out it was a uti, get the doc to check you out for that! Good luck, it's horrible isn't it!

Sux2buthen · 26/03/2019 15:41

@Redken24 yes, my removal was roguish too! Lol

I had a vaginal swab done at the same time and I had an infection inside as well.
Catheter is definitely one of the worst parts 😥
