Contractions stopped when I went to bed?

Had a sweep Sunday. Lost my plug yesterday. Contractions started about 6:30 and got to be every 17 minutes ish. Decided to go to bed to get some rest in ready and they stopped!!!! Anyone else? Just sat upright having a cuppa and had one contraction. I don’t know what’s happening!!!!

I had that twice in my 3 and a half days of latent and active labour. My advice: get the sleep while you can - this could go in awhile!!

By the time my girl arrived, I hadn't had more than a couple hours a night intermittently. Then I couldn't sleep on the ward for all the screaming babies!! I'd finally managed to fall asleep at 4am, only to be woken at 420 to be told my baby was crying - I felt like such an awful mum!!! So it was from sat/Sunday night until Thursday/fri night with no more than about 5 hours' of sleep total!!! Get it while you can!!

As my mil says: 'you don't know important sleep is until you don't get any'!

I had this. I had a bit of a cold and the midwives thought my body was too run down for the labour. I was induced that morning as it was booked for then anyway and labour came on very strong and fast with just the pessary.

Yes that happened with me, went to bed at 22.00. Then DD crawled in to my bed at 3am, had about an hour on mumsnet searching why do contractions stop when you go to sleep and then which jeans will be in when skinnies are out (my browsing history for that night is hilarious)...and my body must have thought I was ready for it, 90 minutes later I had a newborn in my arms!

Thanks for the replies! It’s so frustrating! Midwife just called and said it’s perfectly normal
And booked me in for a 4th sweep
Thursday! Adding she didn’t think I’ll get to Thursday. So everything crossed. Have had 3 contractions so far today.
