I am now 2 weeks pp after an emcs. This evening i have realised my scar is red and sore.
Has anyone else had anything like this?
Will go to my GP tomorrow but just looking for advice

You poor thing. But it's only 2 weeks. Do check it out with your GP but also you can help with the healing. A handful of salt in the bath maybe. And some cream on the scar - even a bit of savlon (ask the doc). Be careful not to overdo it. I used some vitamin E ointment which helped. Sending hugs.

Redness/soreness and itchiness is fairly normal at the scar surface, if the pain seems to be coming from deeper/internal, or you notice any discharge, odour or new swelling, then this should be looked at by doctor.

I'm nearly 4 years PP, but my scar gets so irritated and red if I dare wear anything that is not high-waisted.

I was advised shower and then pat dry gently. Also tip was put hairdryer on low setting and not to close but use to completely dry area after shower.

Last tip- not sure if you have any overhang but you can fold a panty liner in half and put against scar- overhang will keep in place and it will draw any moisture away from scar which really helps . Even now 15 months post c section of it goes a bit red or sore I pop a panty liner against it for a few days ( obviously changing the panty liner !)

Also you can go doctor and check not infected, they do swab , and you can get antibiotics. Think I had to twice quite soon after c section.

Hope you feel better soon xx
