Been in hospital 15 hours, 1cm dilated after intense contractions every 5 minutes! Had some diamorphine a few hours ago which has stopped everything and now being sent home!

Please send advice on how I can get my cervix dilating!! With DS I got to 5cm in a few hours at home and then fully dilated in a few hours on diamorphine in hospital. I don’t understand why my body doesn’t seem to know what to do this time round.

How far along are you? Maybe just take the opportunity to rest and recuperate from your eventful day. Hopefully things will kick off overnight!

Dim lighting, essential oils, back massage, make sure you're leaning forward/squatting positions not lying back. Comedy tv/film or anything that makes you relax and laugh to get that oxytocin flowing!
Hope it happens soon!

Yes to relaxation, a calm safe space, laughing, kisses and cuddles, keep moving as much as you can to let gravity do it’s thing! Think positive, your body knows what to do and everything will happen as it’s meant to, when it’s meant to.

Still in hospital as they can’t discharge me until 24 hours after the diamorphine but heading home at 7am this morning without baby!

Labour not progressing, just one and off contractions and tightenings so being sent to see if it progresses at home over the next few days.

It’s so frustrating to have been in, been through all that pain to know I’m going to have to do it all again in a few days when things decide to start properly!
