Hi. I'm only 17 and having a sweep in the next couple of days I'm just wondering what to expect? Also can someone please tell me what to expect from labour? I'm really nervous about labour. I'm absolutely terrified. That would be a better word to use. I'm currently 36+6. Smile

Don't feel terrified.
It is what it is. It can be painful and long sometimes but it is nothing you can't handle. It may take a little while to get going after the sweep (and the sweep will be uncomfortable).

Try and keep yourself occupied and walk around if you can it might help speed things up. Gas and air helped me with the contractions, I had no other drugs. Have a poo before you go in & keep hydrated. Be calm, don't be scared, you'll meet baby at the end of it.

At no point is it going to be 'too much' you can and will get through it.

Let your midwife know if you have any concerns along the way.

Just some advice I found helped .
My sweeps weren't painful Iv had them with all 3 of my children .

Whilst there doing it even though it's hard to . . Just relax your whole body and close your eyes if you have too , think of something else x
