Social Surrogacy

7 replies

pinkblue1234 · 26/02/2019 14:37

I am doing research into social surrogacy - which is when a woman or couple opt to use a surrogate even though can conceive naturally.

The reasons for doing this include protecting your career, fear of pregnancy, not wanting your body to change or for social/lifestyle reasons.

I would be interested in hearing views on this and speaking to someone who has opted for social surrogacy.

Thanks.

What??? Surrogacy is bad enough but this (if it ever really happens) it's utterly revolting.

Women's bodies are not for rent or sale.

Which newspaper/magazine/blog are you with, OP?

pinkblue1234 · 26/02/2019 15:01

I am a student and this is one of my university projects - so I do not represent any organisations.

I am fascinated by this! I never thought of it as a "thing" but now you say it, it makes sense. Some people love being pregnant while some hate it. Hope you get the ibfo you need!

Well, I think that al surrogacy is wrong.

@RiverTam
@NoCauseRebel

What is your issue with surrogacy?
I'm interested if you have had problems carrying a child yourselves before deciding to be so judgemental?!

OddBoots · 26/02/2019 20:20

It is certainly a real kick in the teeth to all those women who want nothing more than to carry their own child in their body but it isn't possible.
