Declining induction at 42 weeks

Has anyone ever declined an induction at 42 weeks and gone into spontaneous labour the following week?

I’m currently 42 weeks and 3 days pregnant with an induction booked for Friday. I’m really hoping to avoid induction but as the days pass it’s looking less likely.

Does anyone have any positive stories?

Thanks

Another one chiming in that if you want to avoid induction just go for a c section but dont wait.

Both mine came after 42 weeks and then (difficult) inductions. They were by then quite long and in my case had no inclination to come out naturally. After my first difficult induction I do wish Id booked a c section for 42 weeks.

A planned c section is so very different to one when youre exhausted after failed induction.

@MyBreadIsEggy does thr obstetrician support you? Midwives are often very anti intervention and many have little understanding of the risks.
