Sore after birth!

I gave birth almost 6 weeks ago with a second degree tear. I’ve got this really sore red patch inside my vag at the opening I guess where it stretched pushing baby out. It’s so sore! Did anyone else have this problem and know how to help it get better?

Not had the same injuries as you, but with hazel and ibuprofen really helped take away the swelling and pain with me.

I soaked the thick maternity pads in witch hazel and wore them (and froze some too) and also put some in my bath. I also bought some witch hazel gel for when the pain was easier to pinpoint.

I took me ages to recover from dc1. I was also bleeding for a long time, and I think that made it worse.

I found that having a quick bath morning and evening in water with bath oil in really helped (it was lavender oil, I think , midwife recommended it as lavender is supposed to help healing)

But at 6 weeks, I would also ask for a medical check form Gp or midwife, just to make sure it isn't an infection.

Have you been icing your vag?
I found that this helps with the pain.
I'm 8 weeks postpartum and now only get pain if I've been on my feet all day.
You can make ice packs out of water frozen in condoms, you just lay them flat in the freezer and stick them under your pad. Very soothing, especially when things feel inflamed.
At 6 weeks I had all 4 lots of stitches looking well and healed (I also had 2nd degree tearing). Definitely go to your GP to get it checked for infection.
