V early labor; nap or bounce?

I'm 39+5 FTM. Last night painful contractions started, built to every 10 min for about 2 hours. When they got less regular around 3am I went for a short walk with DH and they stopped completely so I got a few hours of broken sleep waking up with an occasional pain 🙄

Today we've done loads of walking, have lost a fair amount of bloody mucus and contractions started up again around 6pm. Still irregular 40sec long, about every 20-30min and painful enough to wake me up 😞

Have sent DH to bed for some sleep, sitting alone in the dark with my TENS and not sure if I should persist with the uncomfortable birthing ball to try and move things along or try and get some sleep myself!

Advice please clever people in my phone xxx

Take paracetamol and try to get some sleep. It's a long and tiring road! Good luck!

Nap if you can! Best wishes for the rest of your labour, very exciting times :)

Thanks for the advice, contractions are stronger and longer but haven't got much closer together and I got much more sleep than I thought.

Just waking myself up with the light, hoping today is the day 🙂

Hope you got some sleep. Try to eat little and often and stay hydrated. Good luck!

Update:

After 4 days of excruciating latent back labor with contractions never settling into a rhythm I went from 3cm to 10cm in 1 hour. Much to the shock of the midwife I had sobbed at to let me stay in hospital with the delicious pethidine.

Finally Florence Karina was born yesterday at 14:53, 8lb 5oz with a little assistance from a ventouse. She's beautiful and we're in love, if more than a little exhausted 😍

Awww, congratulations!

What a gorgeous name for your little girl, enjoy your newborn snuggles & try to get some sleep Flowers
