Bleeding after birth

I'm current 13 days post birth and have a medium flow, manageable with no pain and only the occasional stringy clot in it - but my flow is very red fresh blood.

We were discharged from the midwife 10 days ago and she did comment on the colour but noted it may be because I'm a redhead?

Just wondered when the colour of everyone's lochia changed? I was expecting it to be more like the brown colour of the end of a period?

Your flow has nothing to do with hair colour.
If flow has increased it's probably because you have increased your activity levels, which is normal as yu start to feel better post-partum. But don't overdue it, don't push yourself.
If you have pain or fever, see a doctor.

Also classed as a 'red head'. Hair colour has nothing to do with it imo.
Mine never really changed? Just was like a heavy period for a bit and then a light one for. Long time and then just stopped. No old brown blood.
Midwife only asked if it was an odd colour that would signify infection or have an awful smell to it, didn't worry that it was fresh blood in the slightest.
