How long was your VBAC?

I had a planned c section for my first due to dd being breech. I am planning a Vbac this time, but was wondering if I am technically a ftm in terms of how slow the progression of labour may be, or if the fact I’ve had a baby before (even though I never laboured or dilated) has any positive impact in terms of having a speedier second labour?!
Those who had a Vbac id be interested to know how long your second labour was?

I've had 2 emergency sections so no expert on vbacs but I'm pretty sure it's the labouring bit which counts, sorry.

Certainly my 2nd labour was progressing much faster than my 1st (dc1 got stuck at full dilation and couldn't be retrieved with forceps). I think it took 60 odd hours for me to get 5 cms with him and about 6 to get there with dc2.

Sorry, you'd count as a first time mum for this. My attempted vbac took an hour to get from 0-2cm, 4 hours to get from 2-4cm while on the induction drip, 30 minutes to get from 4-5cm and then I had an emergency section. But that was partly because I was being induced at 36 weeks with a very poorly baby so a vbac in the time allowed was never going to work really.

I agree it’s the dilation that counts. But in answer to your question, according to my notes it was 4.5 hours, personally I’d say more like 8 from the point at which I thought ‘yep definitely in labour’

I was induced on my due date (reduced movement), no pessaries after c-section so straight in waters broken. Waters broken at 1.30 am, contractions started about 30min later dd2 born 6.10am.

I hadn’t laboured before either and had my first VBAC 18 months after my emcs. Overall labour was 23 hours. 15 of which were in hospital. I was allowed to labour longer than they usually allow at my hospital as we were both coping well although progress was slow. DS2 was back to back and a very big baby (9lb 10oz) got an epidural at about 8cm and once I’d made it to 10 they allowed me to push for an hour but he was going no where! Rotational forceps in theatre in the end but a great experience all in all! Hope to have another VBAC this time. Am 24 weeks!

EMCS at 5 cm dilated with DC1. VBAC with DC2 was 45 min labour, though waters broke 24 hours before that. Never thought it would be that quick as I hadn't dilated fully first time round!
