I'm really scared of giving birth. I'm scared of all the pain reliefs I don't like the thought of the way it Will make me feel. Is there anything I can have that won't make me feel like that??

Epidural will numb all pain. The most wonderful invention.

Gas & air is really enjoyable.

Good luck. Don't be scared of the pain, it's positive pain and your body will cope!

For me the only pain was with the contractions but then an epidural took that pain away.. the pushing felt amazing and such a relief there was no pain there! Good luck and enjoyGrin

Agree with PP that the contractions are painful but I found it a manageable pain and counted through them as they only last a minute or so. The pushing stage was just amazing and my body knew exactly what to do. My baby actually being born wasn’t painful, like his head coming out etc, I remember it all clearly happening and thinking it wasn’t as bad as I’d imagined. I had gas and air through the contractions and laid in the birthing pool but didn’t actually have baby in the water. I found the healing process by far worse than the birth!

But here I am with my 2 week old, back to normal and feeling great! It really is incredible what you are capable of!
