Came in for regular check up on my due date and my waters had gone a little so they've kept me for an induction. Pessary in about 3 hours now. Any advice, words of wisdom from those that have experience of induction would be very very welcome as I wait!!

Exciting!
Is this your first?
Try to keep moving. Good luck

If you have the drip, take the epidural. No badge of honour for doing it without. Good luck!

I second the epidural (if you want it of course). I was so against having it that by the time I got it I'd totally worn myself out.

Good luck xx

Thanks all, so far just the pessary. They'll reassess tomorrow afternoon if I don't progress. Was hoping to get some sleep tonight but my back is aching and it just feels impossible. No contractions yet though 🙄

Another recommendation for epidural. I was dead against the idea until I had contractions for 3 days without progressing, and was in agony and totally exhausted. Within minutes of the epidural I was asleep and slept throughout the rest of labour, got woken up and told it was time to push! I ended up being induced with the drip purely because my labour wasn't progressing even though it had started on its own just after my due date.
