Do third babies.. generally engage and stay before labour or do they do the popping inand out thing.. ( I know not an exact science..).. I am 37+5wks)

Lower back is going crazy on and off, the other night had regular period cramps.. which I now think were the baby engaging..

I am getting excited now, I just want to meet my lo so much...

Can't help but four weeks ago my LO2 was 3/5ths engaged.

I'm now 39+5 and still no baby!

I have had twinges and cramps on and off for the last two weeks.

Hi I am 37w with my DC3 and was told I was 2/5 eng last night at a mw appointment BUT earlier in the pregnancy I was more engaged than this and she popped out again.

I don't think being engaged is as importnant in second pregnancies onwards- plus I am also having cramping but nothing else- fingers crossed it is all softening my cervix and I will be in for a 4 hr labour like with DS2 and not the 20 hr one I had with DS1!!!!

PS I am not medically qualified to say any of this!!!!!

Twoplusone,I'm sorry to say mine all engaged early - DS at 33wks, DD1 and 35 wks and DD2 at about 36 wks. This is my 4th and it engaged at 38 wks but is now 3/5s engaged. I was overdue with all of mine and my m.w said it could happily sit where it was for another 3 wks....But maybe yours will be different and come sooner!! Hope so!
