Had DD 6 weeks ago bled for 3 weeks then it stopped have now started bleeding again, it's light but definately red blood (panty liner enough) am exclusively breastfeeding.

Wonder if anyone else had this? Is it normal surely it's not AF. Booked in for 6 week postnatal on Monday will ask then too.

me too - 5 weeks on one week off then it all started again

not necessarily normal - I had this after dd2, even the hv assured me it was AF, finally insisted on scan and had lots of 'retained products' (yuck ), was kept in for an emergency d&c. I had bled for 10 weeks by this stage. So insist on a scan if you are not happy.

Had this too with first 2 babes - I'm pretty sure it's normal. Stopped, had a short break of about a week then it started again because I remember thinking 'this can't be a normal period already can it?'

happened to me too, really light after a week of nothing. think its pretty normal.

I didn't have this with my first, but did with my second. I also thought it must be a period, but then I didn't have another period for 6m, when they restarted properly and recognizably. Later I learned that it is quite common for mums who are exclusively breastfeeding to have a brief-ish bleed after they have apparently stopped bleeding lochia, but it's not a period. Interestingly, my first (when it didn't happen) was mixed-fed, whereas my second was exclusively breadfed.

Doesn't sound anything to worry about, but if it continues for longer than a week I would get it checked out.

this happened to me - thought it was all over after 3 weeks and then a few weeks later it started again!
