Anyone have experience having a baby here that they are willing to share? Am I to transfer trusts and want to make the best decision.

Info also welcome on other Hampshire maternity units! Smile

Had my first here as had to be induced (I wanted the midwife led unit at St Mary’s) but had a wonderful experience. Most women locally have their baby at QA unless they are very low risk and decide to go for one of the midwife units. There is still a separate midwife unit actually in QA (called Mary Rose) so if you want to try for a MW led north but have the reassurance of labour ward next door, then QA is the place. It’s also quite central for portsmouth/Fareham/Havant/petersfield so depending on where you live it may be your best option. It’s a long way to St Richard’s (Chichester) or Southampton so do think about the traffic in relation to where you live.
Have been consultant led this pregnancy and very happy with the care and attention I’ve received all the way through there.
