TMI warning - truth about waters breaking please?

Okay so reason I ask is I am 39+1 and I have been having sex at least once a day (to try get things moving along) and my oh always 'finishes' in me.

I'm used to it etc etc but I just thought I had all his stuff out, then suddenly about an hour later I had about 2 teaspoons of very very watery liquid come out, not usual for us, but it did smell a bit like sperm so not sure if it could be a bit of sperm mixed with waters. So my question is, could this be a little bit of my waters breaking ? I'm aware that waters aren't always a massive gush and can be a little bit at a time over a certain time period!

Did anyone else experience little dribbles of waters instead of the movie typical gush ??

Sorry again for TMI but it's not something I fancy calling my mum or mil about!!

When your hindwaters go, it is more of a constant trickle especially with gravity’s help. So lying down it’s not much but each you stand up you will have a trickle.

Forewaters go with a big gush.

First baby my waters never broke until pushing! Second baby it was a trickle just before pushing. Some women never get the full gush. If you are getting daily amounts and it is blood stained then get it checked out. The problem is with pregnancy that the list of causes fluid from down there is endless!

My waters went with both pregnancy’s, first I got out of bed and heard a pop and experienced a trickle of water. The second I was dashing up the stairs as I needed the loo and felt a gush and thought I had wet myself.
Both times my waters had a slightly sweet smell.

If you think it could be your waters please go and get checked out as you are at risk of infection. Ring your midwife or assessment unit.

For me my waters going just felt like I wet myself. Was already in labour and at the hospital and I turned to my hubby embarrassed because I wet myself!

Mine pooped twice. Third time they never went and DS was born with my membranes intact and had to be broken out of them after he was born!

Doesn't sound like waters to me.. 🤷‍♀️

My hind waters were leaking with my second - maybe a teaspoon of liquid when I stood up, every few hours.

I would put a pad on and get it checked out if it happens again.

If your waters are leaking they will usually induce you after 24 hours to avoid risk of infection.

I never had the full on gush of waters. Just felt like I was doing a wee every hour or so.

What you describe sounds like semen oozing out post sex, particularly as it smells like semen. Your waters don't really smell of anything, or at least not like semen or urine. But if you are concerned put a pad on so when you go to hospital you have evidence to show.

Mine were popped with baby number 2 and went during pushing as baby 2 was born. Both times was a massive gush. Conscious though that my experiences probably aren't typical!

I think they can leak slowly, maybe ring your midwife unit to ask their opinion? They'll have heard it all before and will know what to recommend.
Mine went in a big, cliched gush all over the bed and the bedroom floor so was super super obvious 😂

1st birth, the were broken for me during labour by the midwife. 2nd birth and I had a slow trickle for about 2 hours and then labour started. This was the hindwaters. When the forewaters went it was with the baby being pushed out. She still had some of the sac on her head poor bubs.

All three of mine were different. But to be on the safe side out on a pad, contact the labour unit. There is a simple test they can do to confirm or rule out fluid bring amniotic or not.

Mine trickled for a few hours and then when I got to the hospital I sat on the exercise ball for a few minutes stood up and there was a full on gush of water!

Sounds like it could be your hind waters!

Mine never came out with a gush and the midwifes at the time all thought it wasn't my waters as it was so little coming out at once and even stopped completely for a day in between (didn't have an internal examination though). I went into labour about four days after having the first few teaspoons of water in my underwear.

If you decide to have an internal examination and they find it is your waters they will most likely advice you to get induced after 24h because the risk of infection doubles and goes up from 0.5% to 1% and the longer you leave it the higher it gets.
