Is this a show??? Bright red blood - not huge quantities but enough so I've had to use a maternity pad. No mucus though.

dunno - that's how one of mine started...

I would call in just in case

I bled whilst in silent labour with dd1
I found out a few years later that the dilation can cause vessels in the cervix to rupture.

kickassangel · 17/06/2007 21:19

make the call, no-one here can tell you without looking at you
good luck

Not sure but def phone and see what the hospital say. I'm sure someone with something more helpful to say will be along in a minute.

mummyto2littleprincess · 17/06/2007 21:20

well it was how my labour started

I always say that if you need a pad and it's bright red, not mucousy, then you should get it checked out, know it's a PITA but it's so hard to diagnose what it is unless you have had a full antenatal check and someone has actually looked at your loss. Have seen some very heavy "shows" that sounded like something worse when described over the phone, so don't worry, just get in touch with the hosp

Thank you all. I did call the hospital and went in. The bleeding had stopped by then and everything was fine. This morning, I discovered a blood spot on my labia, which was obviously the culprit! (Please note: I do not routinely examine my vulva with a mirror - I came across it in the shower and THEN checked it out!!!) Quite a relief but oh, I do feel foolish.
