Nasty D+V - labour imminent?!

Baby number 2 is due on Monday. I've had a dodgy tummy on and off for a few days, and this escalated yesterday to include violent vomiting in the small hours. Delightful.

I'm seriously hoping this is my body "clearing out" in prep for labour, but I had nothing of the sort with DD last year. Anyone had anything similar just before labour? How long before? (She asks desperately....I know I'm brewing a big baby!!) If I'm ill much longer I think I should probably see my GP.

I couldn't eat anything when I was in labour as I would bring it back up. I did have contractions though

No, I couldn't eat anything when I was in labour last time either. But I was perfectly well beforehand - boot sure what's going on this time Sad

I had the same clearing out before labour, about 6-7 in the morning, was 10 inches dilated by 12 and delivered by 4. Fingers crossed OP!

Ah @WeeMadArthur that would be amazing!! Sadly I'm sitting in the bath with precisely nada occurring, sigh.

I did eat a whole pineapple the night before because it’s meant to bring on labour, maybe get someone to pop to the shops?

I vomited a lot during labour a few weeks ago. My dh the told me, once we got onto the ward, that During labour I managed to get sick on the midwife. On the face. Oh the shame, the poor woman! Never have I apologised more profusely!
Fingers crossed something happens for you tonight

Skylucy · 27/10/2018 14:56

Oh no @Wonderstar1216 !! You poor thing. And who'd be a midwife eh?!

So, I've not been ill for 18 hours now and absolutely nothing is happening. Obviously wishful thinking on my part! Never mind, at least I feel better now!
