I'M SCARED!!

Will keep you all informed - everything seems to have slowed down now though. Hope it is today!

New to this website but my friend has been going on about it for ages - it is FAB!! I could get seriously addicted!

HelloMama · 27/08/2004 12:25

Oooh! good luck! how exciting! will be thinking of you with fingers crossed!

cazzybabs · 27/08/2004 12:26

Good luck and keep walking round (even if you feel like curling up and dying) - please give me this advice in a few weeks!!!!!!! It will help labour.

cazzybabs · 27/08/2004 12:28

Oh OK take Mears advice and go to sleep. Sounds much better to me!

Twinkie · 27/08/2004 12:32

Skate - have a bath and try and relax - hard I know - pack some sandwiches for after the birth now too - you will need them that piece of toast doesn't quite replenish you after all that pushing!!

I did the ironing as just something to focus on to - made for a lot less work when coming home!!

Have to go home soon but will check int he morning and again Sunday morning to see if there is any news.

Good Luck and remember no matter how painfuil it is it will be over soon - you are not going to have to live with this forever and at the end of it you will have a scrummy bundle of hugginessness which smealls all babyish and freash - ooohhhh am getting carried away!!

Mears are you there!?!?!?

Activity has ceased - what is happening?! Surely I can't just 'get stuck' at 4cm? I thought things would keep moving from there, even if slowly??

mears · 28/08/2004 00:06

Hi Skate - I am not long back form having my own baby from the other thread . Sounds to me as if you are in the latent stage of labour which means that the cervix does not actually dilate with the cintractions you are having just now. Once they become much longer lasting and powerful things will progress. You might be like this for days if the contractions stop. Try not to despair - when they start in earnest things will move fairly quickly probably. Am working tomorrow 9today0 so will not be able to catch up till later in the evening. Hope it goes well for you

Skate · 28/08/2004 10:13

Oh no!

Actually it's a nightmare because I don't feel well at all - very nauseous and I keep getting runs of contractions every 8 mins or so for a couple of hours then they die off again. Had lots of 'show' as well though. The worst thing is that whenever I've been lay down for a bit I get excrutiating pain under my bump on the RHS, lower back and down my right leg - what is that? Is it just where the baby is lay??

Hope it gets moving soon.

How are you now, Skate?

Skate · 29/08/2004 21:57

Babe has arrived - see new birth announcement 'Skate-let 3 has arrived'!

Thanks for all your good wishes everyone!
