It's not going to happen anytime soon is it?? This is no 3 and my first sweep ever. Gutted that I might have to consider induction :(

I’m not sure what the bishops score is but I’m also 41+1 (but ftm) and had a failed sweep because my cervix was too high yesterday so I think I’m heading towards induction too 😔 so gutted!

39+6 here and got midwife appointment tomorrow so will ask about bishops score when I have examination tomorrow. Zero signs of anything happening though so also feeling like 42 weeks and induction decisions are looming. Wishing you both lucky labour vibes!

Running365 · 18/10/2018 18:06

Oops got my weeks confused and I'm actually 40+6...goes to show how quickly time seems to be flying passed now...🙈

The closer you are to 10 the more likely labour is. I'm having another one on Sunday. They want to induce on Wednesday but I've refused....

I was booked for an induction at 41+6 and had just accepted that that's what was going to happen. However, I went into labour at 41+3 and had my baby the next day so there's still time! I had no signs, baby wasn't engaged, I didn't have a show until I went to the hospital at 8cm and waters didn't break until I started pushing. Just wanted to share my experience in the hope that it offers some reassurance that it could still happen naturally!

Running365 · 19/10/2018 02:46

Thank you @Oonchook - I'm still a firm believer of baby coming when baby is ready so hearing your story is lovely and certainly very reassuring so thanks!

If it helps, I had an induction for my second baby at 37 weeks and Bishop's score of 1. It took 4 hours to establish active labour, 2 hours from there until birth, no instruments and a first degree tear that healed with no issue.
If you do opt for an induction it could be completely fine.

Thank you. I've been awake since 4 worrying about it all 😔 I've got different, dull pains today. I'm sure it will all stop though like normal.

Oh I feel for you. I gave birth 3 weeks ago at 41+6, an hour before I was due to be induced. I was also anxious and feeling low about it at your stage, but I felt it helped in the days before to achieve a level of acceptance that my labour may not be what I’d planned, and I was more able to relax. It’s awful being told to relax when anxious in pregnancy, I know, but it really is important. No one can force you to do what you’re not comfortable with. What could possibly help you relax at this stage? Do you feel like a meal, a walk, cinema etc? Massage? Rant with a friend? All my sympathies Flowers

At 40+12 my bishops score was 0! I had the gel (first stage of induction) at 10am, went into labour at 2.30pm, baby born in a lovely water birth at 5.30pm. It can happen!

FebruaryBear · 19/10/2018 13:13

39+6 Sweep/Bishop's score of 5.
Baby arrived 40+4 after a relatively short and straightforward labour.
You might not get to Wednesday!

Loving these positive stories! Thank you all. I'd love to have it tomorrow which is my original due date. Keep everything crossed for us x
