Yes mine did. Mine went at 11.30am and I didnt start feeling contractions until about 6pm that day

Yea, waters broke, didn't feel contractions until a few hours later

They tell you to go in as soon as your waters go...because of infection. However, if you want labour to progress quicker and more natural just stay at home. Labour slows down with travel, hospital etc. You're very unlikely to get an infection THE MINUTE your waters break. Your fanny is not a sponge! Give urself a few hours of labouring in the comfort of your own home before rushing in. If ur waters broke and still no contractions after 24hrs, I'd go in.

Tell them your waters have gone, they'll probably advise to wait 24 hours before going in if nothing happens (assuming you're full term?).

My waters broke after two weeks of mild infrequent contractions.

Broke at 11:30pm and by 11:40 I was contracting every two minutes for a minute. Got to the hospital at 1pm and wasn't dilated at all. Baby was born 4 hours later.

I agree with Rosesarad's advice. My waters broke, no contractions, didn't go into labour until a day later.

Mine did - I got up in the morning and they burst. Called hospital and went in for a check up but no contractions. Was told to go in the next morning if still nothing happening as would need to be induced. My contractions did not start until later that evening at least 12 hours later. DD was born the following evening after a long labour.

Mine did both times. No contractions til later. Although I went straight in as I had to have c-sections.

Peanut91 · 17/10/2018 14:37

When my waters went I called the hospital. They asked me to come up in a couple of hours. They checked me and baby and then sent me home with an induction booked for 3 days later if baby hadn't arrived.

About an hour after I arrived home I lost a lot of blood so went straight back to hospital where they kept me in
