Can you refuse induction and have a c section??

Currently 40+4 with no 3 and the thought of a long induction terrifies me. Can I refuse and opt for a c section? This isn't a small baby and the longer it's in, the bigger its getting.

I know a cesarean isn't the easy option. But with two children the thought of being stuck on a ward for days waiting for induction is filling me with dread.

I was induced it didn't even take 24hours. Opting for a section with 2 kids at home it's probably a bad idea

Yes, I did. I said I wanted no interventions at all. Waited to 41 weeks and had section. My first labour was a long fail induction and emcs

I'm 38 weeks and my consultant has agreed that it wouldn't be advisable for me to go overdue as baby is big but I was very clear that I will not consent to an induction as I was worried about shoulder dystocia and increased risk of forceps/emcs. Consultant agreed that was reasonable so when I see her this week she's going to book me in for an ELCS at 40 weeks but also hopefully do a sweep to see if we can get things moving before then. Definitely worth a conversation.

Thanks all. I'm seeing my mw on Thursday so I'll raisie it then. I'll be 41 weeks then!

I did. I allowed sweeps but declined all forms of pharmaceutical induction. Ended up with a CS and it was 100% the right decision for me

At what point did you get that agreed? I'm hoping for a home birth. I haven't been under consultant care but know I do not want an induction.

I was clear from my booking in appt where my limits were. I went into labour spontaneously after having several sweeps. For various reasons labour stalled and they wanted to give me the synto drip. I refused and we went to theatre.
