Gentle induction at 39 weeks

So I've been booked in for an induction at 39 weeks - but a very softly approached one. If that makes sense.

This is my second baby and my first came after (we estimate) 5 days of completely pain free labour and then 1:45 mins of extremely painful shockingly intense labour and because we live 1hr + from any hospital he came in an ambulance. We were considering a home birth but because of the speed which likely will happen again and the distance from the hospital if anything goes wrong plus I have a fibroid which apparantly can cause bleeding we ended up seeing a consultant who is going to admit me to hospital at 39 weeks, give me a stretch and sweep and leave me for 48 hours in hospital to see what happens.

I just wondered if anyone has had anything remotely similar and also - I'm concerned that I'm going to be a numpty waiting around in hospital taking up a bed while nothing happens for 48 hours! First came 5 days late, so I don't know if this one is going to come at 39 weeks? It seems unlikely to me!

A stretch and sweep isent induction ( I had a induction)

They don't tend to work for most people all my babies was late I was told that the success of it working is unlikely if previous baby's was late I had one at 39 weeks nope nothing then went on for a actual induction I was in labour for 2 days it was not the best if you can avoid it I would suggest you do good luck

I had a induction with my third son i would avoid if possible 4 days for contractions to start then 3 days of contractions starting and stopping extremley painful.

no pain meds having to stand my full labour cause if i sat down contractions would stop waters manually broke and baby and me in distress both heart rates erratic ECGS during birth.

Then placenta wouldn't detach 6 hours later getting ready for theatre to remove placenta a DR came in put her hand in twisted and pulled my placenta out as i was having my bladder manually emptied ... i ended up with a infection and serious pnd due to the trauma.
