Will I be in early labour forever?

Help ladies. I first started having contractions Saturday evening. I was having 3 in 10 mins by Sunday evening. The midwife arrived and everything stopped. I managed to get some sleep and it all started again this morning but has completely petered out. I don't know what to do, why have all my contractions stopped? I've tried walks, snacks, different positions. I've had a good cry. No dice. I'm so deflated. Why has it all stopped?;

Hi there @BumbleNova! I've just posted something a little similar! Currently 39+5 and am being extremely silly and getting impatient to meet my little one after being told by my midwife two weeks ago she didn't think it would be long! Should've know 😂

Had a jelly like (urgh) discharge two days in a row as of Thursday and then after an awful sleepless night with what feels like period pains I had some old bloody-brownish discharge throughout today. Midwife seems to think I'm in early labor, but feel like it's going to go on, stop-starting, for an eternity as no real contractions yet, just Braxton Hicks 😂

Feel like I'm going to be like this for next two weeks then induced, which I really don't want 😬 xx

I was exactly like this. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but mine lasted around a week until he eventually came just 3 hours after a stretch and sweep!
This is the most exhausting stressful part but hopefully will mean your labour isn’t too long!
Your body is doing what it needs to do, I know it seems impossible but give yourself plenty of tlc and rest in between the walks etc

Afraid I hadn’t this with DD as well. 3 nights of contractions that stopped every morning. I was exhausted. It was a sweep that got me going as well!

I had 2 weeks on and off with my latest, even went in for monitoring as I'd never had it with the others and thought something was wrong!

The sweep really worked for me too - I begged for one at 40 weeks on the day, and had a baby within 12 hours Smile

Well I'm still here and still in early labour. 40 weeks tomorrow. How do I keep going?! I'm so bloody exhausted and upset. I get so excited then so upset when it stops. Strong contractions last night. Carried on this morning. Stopped. I walked, it restarted. I ate, it stopped. Can I beg my midwife for a sweep tomorrow?!

I'm 39+5 and I've had this for the past two weeks. My midwife said it's not really "early labour" even though the signs are there but that baby is getting ready. She reckons it makes for a quicker, easier labour as so much work has been done in the days leading up to the birth...not sure if she's just saying that to make me feel better though! You can ask for a sweep if you want one. I was offered one last week and again yesterday.

Can I join too. I’m 39+2 and been having signs since yesterday afternoon that then completely disappear. Hopefully we will have our babies soon
