With mine, I saw a midwife first of all to be weighed, have my blood pressure taken and to be measured for surgical stockings.

Then I saw an anesthetist who confirmed the plan made with a consultant anesthetist earlier on during pregnancy, went over the rules regards eating & drinking before hand and asked if I had any other questions about the anesthetics/administering the spinal/if I decided to go for a GA etc. They also checked if I was allergic to anything/what sort of anesthetic I'd had in the past.

Finally I saw an obstetrician who asked if I had any questions about the surgery itself, gave me ranitidine to take and a carton of orange juice to drink before I came in. He then offered to run through what would happen on the day which I declined.
