Induction after waters broken delayed :-(

Baby was due to be induced today as my waters went on Thursday night.
I was experiencing some mild contractions but they've well and truly tailed off now.
I haven't been examined since my waters went so no idea how many cm dilated I am.

I've just found out that the labour ward is too busy and I won't get induced today. As my waters have gone it has to be done via drip in the labour ward. It's hospital policy not to be sent home whilst you wait.

Feeling really deflated.

I'm walking around the hospital feeling like a spare part 😩

That's a long time to leave you. I was told I had to deliver within 24 hours of my waters going. Even in that time frame I caught an infection and had to have IV antibiotics. Hope they are doing regular checks on you...oh and good luck x

It’s a good thing not to be examined in these circumstances-you want to avoid anything that could introduce infection. I’d tell them you’re going for a walk, get outside, cuddle DP, and try and relax, as frustrating as that can be!
