Tens Machine

Hi
I'm 35 weeks pregnant & looking into hiring a tens machine for labour.
I'm debating over Babycare Tens or Boots, both are priced similar but the Babycare one seems fancier & better spec.
Any recommendations?
Thanks in advance x

Haven't used either of those but as long as it has a boost (trigger function) and buttons instead of turny knob to control power you are good. Make sure they havr two sets of pads too so you can treat two areas (so four pads) o credit my tens with my natural water birth as it got me through the first 35 hours before I needed gas and air. Then final stage I was not exhausted from the pain and gave birth in 4 hours

I would advise you to use it as soon as labour starts. Don't wait till it gets painful. You need to save your energy for later!! X

I will check what I used I'm a bit if you like. I have a sleeping baby on me now so can't move!

I used the babycare - it was awesome. I was induced and managed with just that and gas and air right up until DS turned OP 26 hours later.

Thank you! Did you order extra pads? Or just the ones that came with the hire?

I’ve used both. Two different labours. Didn’t notice any difference. You just need the boost button.
I got through both labours with the tens machine and gas and air in one labour and paracetamol in the other.

I used the pads that came with them

I had extra pads as I'd been using them to deal with false labour and they lose their stick after a while. I also used one set during early induction and another in labour proper - wasn't taking any chances and in the end I did sweat the first set off.

Thank you all! I have just ordered the Babycare Elle Tens with extra pads (to be on the safe side!)
