Second c section scar pic

I have just had a second c section a few days ago my first one was very neat you couldn't even see it was there.

It looks like they have cut my stomach further up this time and it looks awful I've just burst into tears.

I know my tummy still needs to go down and it needs to heal but I can't help think it's going to heal badly Sad

It all honesty it doesn’t look that bad, however wonder why they didn’t cut you in the same place?

chickedychicked · 10/09/2018 17:46

my first c sec you could barely see the scar and it was tiny. my second was in the exact same place and now you can see it very well and it's wider.
I don't get why they didn't cut you in the same place but honestly the actual scar doesn't look that bad.

Scar tissue doesn’t heal well. So new lines are chosen.
OP it looks very good, it will most likely heal similar to your first.

Aw it doesn't look bad! Embrace it because that's where our babies came from ❤️ and overtime it'll look better. And for recently having a c-section I think it looks great! Just looks like a slight scar to me.

I'm curious as to why they didn't do it in the same spot.. both of mine were in the same spot. However I do know that doing it in the same spot takes longer because of the scar tissue, so maybe that's why they decided to cut slightly above.

It’s nowhere near as bad as mine and I didn’t think mine was that bad!

Gosh only a few days? It looks really good for just a few days.
In fact it looks good, full stop.

I can't tell from the photo- is it quite high up, is that the issue?

It will look so much better when the swelling goes down.

A few days ago? Are you a superhero or something?! That looks amazing and will heal even more with time.

Her0utdoors · 10/09/2018 18:11

Could you ask your midwife if there is a reason your incision is so high? Could it be that it was the best place to cut to get your baby out? Or the existing scar tissue wasn't going to heal well a second time? My scars are almost completely on top of each other, one slightly left, one to the right, still gutted they are there. Wishing you a swift recovery.

This happened to me also with my 3rd section. The third was an emergency section, it was almost a smiley scar! It meant that there was a little raised section in between the two scars. It was fixed when I had my fourth and final section, where I had only one scar but acquired severe overhang.
