Hey everyone.

I'm currently 37+3 and next week when I'm 38+2 they'll be inducing me due to gestational diabetes.

Bubs is estimated at 6lbs 14oz or so they say as I know it's only an estimate but I'm really nervous as I don't know what to expect as he's my first.

I'm excited for the end result and my son being here but so nervous about the inbetween bit of getting him.

I'm guessing this is normal and have only just starting freaking out as come tomorrow it'll be "this week" 😳

Any advice would be great. Thanks in advance.

Take plenty of snacks. Be prepared for it to take a while to get going. If you have the pessary, check each time you go to the loo that it hasn't fallen out!

I was induced at 36 after my waters went. Getting going took a day, as I lost the first pessary, but once labour was properly established I had a really quick birth (too quick for my promised epidural!) . Overall it was a really positive experience, even though I'd been dreading the possibility of being induced.

I was induced too after my waters went. be prelared for a long wait. My waters went at 2am on the Monday and she wasn't born until after 6pm on the Wednesday! my pessary fell out and also didn't really work so I had to have the drip to get started. it took a long time to dilate (was still only 2cm after 8 hours!) But I know that's unusual for the drip to take that long, but the pain got very intense very quickly. they offered me and epidural before they even started the drip and I wish I'd taken it now. by the time I asked for one they could see the babies head so I had to do without
