and she is having regular contractions and she is making her way to hospital now!!!!

so unexpected as she has 2 and a half weeks to go and no-onein our family has ever ever had an early baby unless they have been induced!!!!!

She has been working all day, walking round town in her lounch hour getting the last minute hospital bag things. Went to a wedding fair at the hotel she is getting married in next year, got home at 7 and her waters broke. She had been having backache on and off allday but put it down to a busy day!

I am pacing already and it could be hours and hours away....how am i going to sleep???!!!

positive vibes for a quick and straight forward birth please!!!

from me

:O)

How fantastic!! Its so exciting isn't it!!

If its her first I wouldn't be waiting for the phone to ring in the next few hours- it could take a while.

hope it all goes well for her... and you Aunty!!

how wonderful ! i didn't sleep a wink the night my sister was in labour ! how wonderful !

Idobelieveinfairies · 01/06/2007 20:49

It is her first and shes been asking my advice all the way along and with having 8, i know lots but my waters never popped naturally, so was new to that one. Will that mean her cervix would have opened a liitle for that to happen or can it happen with cervix still closed??

her cervix might be a little dilated, but sometimes labour can take a while to get going

but as she has had backache all day and is having contractions then she should be on her way

also as the cushioning has gone from around baby;s head, things should get going quick!

It's quite bizarre as i can see the back of our hospital from my kitchen window. When dp was in for an op last year the children could wave to him from the balcony.and vice versa when i had the twins. Its weird knowing she is in one of them windows!!

(it is only small hospital as we are on a small island)

Hello! yes i posted earlier on announcements, she is doing very well and baby is feeding fine.

Everyone is still knackered, didn't get home until 4.30 this morning so have been surviving on just 2 and half hours sleep! early night for me.

Thanks for all your kind thoughts.
