No classes available prior to birth - scared!

Hi all,

Just looking for some reassurance. Other than a class on breastfeeding 2 weeks before I give birth, I have no classes available to me in my area and can’t afford the NCT ones. I’m terrified as don’t know what to expect in regards to the birth, aftercare and this is also my first baby and I have no babies/children in the family!

Not sure what I’m after with this post - maybe just some reassurance or people in the same situation?!

Thanks ☺️

I didn't attend any classes either, as I thought NCT ones were too pricey plus my husband would have felt totally uncomfortable going! My baby boy is now 3 months and I had a uncomplicated birth, I just read up a lot, but also found in my opinion sometimes it's best not to know all the details! Your body really knows what it's doing and so do the Midwife's that care for you. Good luck with everything Smile

We weren't able to attend our local classes due to DH's weekend work commitments so we completed this set of online antenatal classes at

www.amotherplace.com

We both found them really useful as a starting point!

I agree with BabyE I would never suggest looking up all the details especially complications and issues. They teach you in hypnobirthing to block out the negative and focus on the best brith for you. There's lots of info on you tube and a few good books too. Good luck with your birth you can do it xxxx
