Unsure about symptoms

Hi all

Ok I'm 37 weeks and have had 7 reduced movements so was up yesterday at daycare for monitor, scan and consultant did a sweep that was unsuccessful as I was open just not open enough if that makes sense.

Well I woke up with belly ache from hell and a few doses of loose BM and feeling nauseous - these have all disappeared and movements are fine today.

I keep getting these weird sharp pains in belly that last seconds and then go, almost like electric shocks and also belly tightens up occasionally and then is fine.

Now I was induced with first baby and this one is transverse/oblique and has been like that since 28 weeks so I'm probably gonna be a C section which is fine with me - but I've no idea if these symptoms are normal for failed sweep or is the start of something.

Any ideas?

Why did they give you a sweep if you're gonna need a c section? Surely they would be preventing you going into labour yourself if it was dangerous enough for a section when baby is in that position?

No idea if it's symptoms from sweep, but tightenings and pains could be the start of early labour? Phone triage and see what they say and also mention baby's position!

They gave you a sweep when you have a transverse lie?? Why?!?

Call delivery and tell them baby is and has been transverse and you were given a sweep and your symptoms and ask for advise. If you feel contractions go in immediately.

Hiya

The sweep was done to try and move him down from oblique to engaged position again - he flipped to engaged last Wednesday (really f**king hurt) and is now back in weird position.

I know they will not do another sweep on Thursday if he is in same position and probably schedule a C section asap.

I did query the sweep but because he us JUST lying on my hip it has a good chance of working (guess it didnt).

Triage notified and if concerned or movements slow again then come straight up with packed bags.
