Feck and Arse! Are my hindwaters leaking? What do I do?

I just stretched in bed and something when pop and some liquid came out!! Not much, but enough to feel wet and it wasn't wee because it doesn't smell!

What do I do? I am not 37 weeks til tues and am worried that if I go into hosp they will either laugh at me because it wasn't my waters, or not let me home! I REALLY want a home birth, but can't have one til tues when I'm 37 weeks! Do I need to phone the labour ward and tell them or just wait and see if it happens again?

I would ring them and see what they say. They will prob want you to go in to be checked out. Good luck. BTW they won't laugh at you. xx

Thanks chipbutty! I'll give them a call once dp has woken up!

a hindwater leak will reseal, and replenish..it is not the same as your waters going, and should not be a reason for induction or hospital birth ! don;t worry !

Do you think I need to call the hosp lulu? Sorry for sounding a bit daft, but with dd my waters broke as she came out, so haven't had this before! Glad it's nothing to worry about though, I'll be gutted if I don't get to use my birth pool in a box!

if you want to call them, then call....but unless the leaking continues, it is unlikely your forewaters have gone......you can go and be checked out. but nothing much else will happen !! if it is your forwaters, it starts the clock ticking on induction....if there is no more leakage, then just wait till tuesday put a pad on and see if you get anymore fluid.

hollyandalice · 26/05/2007 07:50

Thanks lulu!! I think I'll wait and see if anything else happens! Knowing my luck I'll still be sat here at 42 weeks!

advice from my mw was wait and see if any more leaking. if your pad isn't soaked and needing regular changes it's unlikely to be yr waters. keep an eye out for any signs of infection e.g. temp, baby's movements and colour of liquor.
