Pregnancy following prolapse repair

Hi I am only 8 days post prolapse repair sir and I know its stupidly early days to be even thinking about this but my emotions are getting the better of me

Has anyone here gone on to have another baby following prolapse repair? I would be having an early ELCS due to complications last time so it would be just the pregnancy compromising repairs, but I just wondered if anyone has gone on to do this and what problems you encountered?

Thank you so much in advance

Hi - not quite in your position as I am waiting for a prolapse repair but I was only offered it on the proviso I wouldn't get pregnant again as my consultant said the weight of another pregnancy may cause me to go back to square 1. Did they say the same to you?

No not really, more that a section would be the most viable option

Ok, that's interesting. All the advice I've been given was that the weight of the baby and the hormonal changes associated with pregnancy may mean that I would require a second repair if I got pregnant again. Hoping that won't be the case for you.

I had a prolapse repair (front and back) and TVT in November 2016 and am now 30 weeks with a subsequent baby. My consultant who did the repair just said I'd need a ELCS for a further baby- he didn't ban me from having another!! I've seen the same consultant during the pregnancy & was worried about any damage that might be occurring (I don't want to go through the repair op again!) and he draw a picture which kind of looked like my bladder is between the baby and the repair?!.

Obviously I still have 9 weeks to go but fingers crossed the repair seems to be holding up ok , despite me putting on more weight than I should have....

Hope this helps!

Can I ask your age and how your op went please

@kitty1013 was all ok in the end? I desperately need propose surgery but am not 100% sure we’ve finished our family 😭
