Postpartum dryness issues?!

Just over 4 months pp and medical professionals keep telling me dryness issues are hormonal & I entirely understand why that makes sense.

I had an extensive repair & my noon looks a fair bit different to how it did before my baby as I had a severe tear.

Ever since birth I don’t seem to get any lubrication at my vaginal entrance, as in arousal fluid. My vagina inside isn’t dry. But there is no sexual excitement lubrication. What is all this about?!!

So worried that I’m broken 😫 I know we can just use lube but it’s not the same! An although I feel aroused and ready for sex my entrance would just be completely dry!

Are u breastfeeding? That can have an impact. Usually things for me improved around 6 months

Nope not breastfeeding. I bottlefed from day one which is why doesn’t make sense to me. I get it takes a while for hormones to settle down.

But my internal vagina doesn’t feel dry. Just external when I’m meant to be aroused!

I had a severe tear OP. 4 months PP things weren't sore anymore but they weren't totally back to normal either. Particularly at 'the entrance'.

I think 6 months was the point where it all started to feel normal. Certainly now (3 years later) I have no issues. Chances are you aren't broken and just need a little more time.

Thank you for your response. You give me a little bit of hope! I can’t stop worrying it’s my carefree sex life over seeing as I can’t get “wet” and it’s such an embarrassing topic to discuss.

Maybe it’s all the trauma and physcologically my body isn’t quite ready to get back into the swing of things. Never experienced this issue ever before in my life. I keep thinking the repair hasn’t altered it forever & they’ve damaged my glands which lubricate me!

I think we underestimate how huge a trauma a bad tear can be. It's a new normal down there. Our carefree sex life did definitely return but maybe not at 4 months. Highly likely it will for you too.

14 months pp this is still a problem for me. I've just ordered some replens vaginal moisturiser in the hope it will help!

Also 14 months pp and still a problem for me! Reassuring to hear others have this too!

Oh ladies it’s depressing isn’t it. Especially at 14 months pp. I’m sorry it hasn’t got any better for you!

I’m hoping mine may improve in time & it’s just the trauma but if not looks like it will be lube forever...

I recommend Yes Waterbased lube btw. We tried some earlier & it’s the closest I’ve found to seem like the natural thing! Also it has no nasties so won’t harm or upset vjayjay in anyway!

Another vote for yes lube, they do a moisturiser too.

Please give yourself more time. I had a c section and it made absolutely no sense to me that sex was painful and I really suffered from dryness. Nothing to do with stiches or being nervous or anything. Still, it was hormonal and back to normal after about a year.
