Hi, FTM currently 37+4 weeks. For the past couple of evenings I have been woken up feeling uncomfortable with lower back pain similar to period pains. Every so often it radiates around the front of my bump, my bump is often rock solid. I've started to get shooting sensations down below too. Obviously I have nothing to compare this with, I've had no other symptoms to make me think this could be the latent stage. Could this just be my body preparing or could labor be on its way? Thanks in advance.

I’m 37+6 and have the same! It woke me up a few times last night. I’m assuming it’s just BH as baby is only 4/5 engaged. It’s annoying though... where’s all this “rest before the baby comes” meant to come from if we’re up all night with acid reflux, SPD, BH contractions...

These last few weeks are glorious aren't they, just when I think I'm ready lol. I know baby is head down but don't know about the engaged part will have to ask my midwife when I see her. Hope you get some rest! X

I know!!! It’s crazy. I know see what people mean when they say they stop worrying about labour because they just want the baby out 😂

I hope you manage to rest too... and hope you get to meet your beautiful baby very soon Flowers

I had those from 28 weeks with first and from 18 weeks (!) with second. Around 34/35 weeks they became uncomfortable instead of just odd feeling.

I also had the shooting pains too which made me cry out once in the middle of town Smile

I do feel for you those last few weeks are just aches and pains personified.
